Lamoureux CSE is a small but full-service Human Factors and Project Management consultancy, with a network of associates to accommodate the many and varied needs of our customers.  We perform the full range of Human Factors activities, from workplace assessments, layouts and design, to analysis and design of complex Command and Control systems.  Our ability to successfully carry out Human Factors on behalf of our clients is augmented by our experience and expertise in Project Management, helping us to understand what our customers want, and then bring it in on time and on budget.

Lamoureux CSE takes a ’systems approach’ to any job, believing that every work environment is a system, whether the system is as simple as a man with a shovel digging a ditch, or as complex as a team of hundreds of people, working with radars, radios and computer systems, exchanging information to ensure the safe and efficient passage of aircraft through the air from one place to another.  The systems approach ensures that all potential avenues for change are explored, and the wider impact of any single change is understood, so that no undesirable and unanticipated consequences are found in the final system.  This further increases the probability of success when Lamoureux CSE is involved.

Our specialty is working with tasks in which operators have to quickly make decisions or solve problems with significant safety and cost implications, on the basis of vast amounts of data and information that may be ambiguous or unclear at best, and actively deceptive at worst.  Establishing the relative merit of each piece of information, then combining information, then projecting that picture into the future to determine the best course of action, in today’s information-dense environments, is and will remain one of the biggest challenges to human operators.

Lamoureux CSE can provide solutions for all customer requirements.  We can perform small focused literature reviews for individuals, or set in place an online content management system, with password access, to coordinate the efforts of a large, geographically-distributed, team of researchers.  We have extensive experience interviewing subject matter experts and participating in field trials and data collection exercises and are comfortable and prepared to facilitate workshops or deliver specialised training.

Ideally located in Canada’s technology triangle, Lamoureux CSE maintains links with a variety of universities and other Human Factors service providers and can draw upon the resources offered by these organisations.  We actively pursue open-source software solutions (when applicable) helping to keep costs down and accommodate the widest range of users, customers, and partners.
